DuPage County: Greenbrook Tanglewood
DuPage Habitat for Humanity is currently working on Neighborhood Revitalization in the Greenbrook Tanglewood neighborhood of Hanover Park, IL. We are partnering with residents, the Village of Hanover Park, the schools, and other partners in the Greenbrook Tanglewood area in Hanover Park. Through NR, residents, community leaders, civic groups, and neighborhood associations work together to achieve their dreams and aspirations.
Chicago South Suburbs: Park Forest's East Gate Neighborhood
Habitat for Humanity is currently working on Neighborhood Revitalization in the East Gate neighborhood of Park Forest, IL. We are partnering with residents, the Village of Park Forest, the school district, stake holders, and faith partners in the Park Forest community. Through our NR initiative, residents, community leaders, civic groups, and faith coalitions work together to achieve their dreams and aspirations of a better stronger community.
Housing: Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. This is being achieved by identifying and procuring structurally sound homes in the Eastgate Community, rehabbing them, and contributing to the quality of life by reducing this number of vacant homes through our homeownership program.
Rock the Block: Rock the Block is a community fundraising and beautification event held in the East Gate community. This event allows us to engage corporations and community partners in a week of service, fundraising, and fun filled community engagement activities for residents in the form of a Rock the Block Party.
Backpack Giveaway: The backpack giveaway in Park Forest is an opportunity to engage residents in a day of fun, give residents the opportunity to learn more about our mission, and how we can collaborate in building community while improving quality of life. We provide the community and its youth with food, giveaways, and back-to-school materials. Beloved Community Partners: We embrace the beloved community and understand that it takes a village. Community Partners are essential to ensure that the mission of Habitat is carried out effectively as well as ensure that we are engaging partners that helps improve the quality of life in a holistic manner for our communities.
