Housing

Residents have decent, safe, stable, and affordable housing. This action plan intends to continue exploration of potential renovation options in the Greenbrook Tanglewood area, partnering with the HOA to support and assist in identifying homeowners in need of home repairs, and providing education and counseling for renters to climb the ladder to homeownership.

MLK Build Up Day

For over five years now, DuPage Habitat partners with Hanover Park's Cultural Inclusion and Diversity Committee for MLK Build Up Day, a day of service honoring Martin Luther King Jr's legacy.

Amenities

Residents have access to and support the continued preservation of local amenities for their social gathering and recreational needs. This action plan intends to guide the work to increase resident access and encourage support toward the continued preservation of local amenities for Greenbrook Tanglewood residents’ consumer, social gathering, and recreational needs.

Ring Doorbell Neighborhood Watch

This project was pursued to increase the sense of personal and community safety, equipping residents with a tool to take action should they observe something worth looking into. Resident and Homeowner, Toni has lived in the neighborhood for the past 4 years and was one of the first residents to sign up for the program and was eager to see more neighbors participate and come together to keep the community safe. “Habitat helps neighbors connect to each other and build a better atmosphere.” Toni shared how meaningful it was that police officers volunteers to help install the device.

Residents, community associations, and partners identify with the neighborhood, feel connected, and support one another.

Clean up, Green Up

Residents and community partners collaborate to clean up existing spaces and further enhance the greenery that already exists in the neighborhood. This action plan intends to encourage residents and community partners to collaborate in cleaning up existing spaces and further enhance the greenery that already exists in Greenbrook Tanglewood.
